The simple rules

Eating from the source is very simple. Eat food as close the 'original source' as possible and any food that has over 50 billion ingredients, preservatives, additives, flavours or numbers of any kind - avoid it!

But, just to make sure we are clear, here are a few rules to follow:
  • No coffee or alcohol
  • Avoid all processed products
  • Use honey as a substitute for sugar, and if you must use sugar, use raw sugar
  • Use organic products as much as possible
  • Watch out for hidden salt or 'sodium' in food labels. If you must use salt, use organic sea salt
  • 40% of your diet should comprise of vegetables
  • Eat plenty of brown rice as your main source of carbohydrate
  • Drink soy, rice, oat or organic milk
  • Drink at least 2.5L of spring or distilled water daily

Highly recommended snacks

Eating naturally is one thing, but trying to stay away from naughty foods is another. Here are some snacks that I regularly eat that taste good as well as stick to my natural rule of thumb. Enjoy!
  • Fruit
    • pears, bananas, apples, mandarins
  • Nuts
    • almonds, brazilian nuts
  • Carrot/celery sticks
    • with tahini or natural peanut butter
  • Organic popcorn
    • with sea salt and/or nutelex butter
  • Rice cakes
    • with honey, tahini or natual peanut butter
  • Organic corn chips

Notes:

I purposely made the ingredients of a large proportion so that you can freeze what is left over to eat another time.
